1938 Ford Pickup Truck
Available from a long-time owner and caretaker is this great running and driving ’38 Ford Pickup truck. This is a very solidly built truck with a modern Chevy drive train and some options that make it a comfortable summer cruiser. Did I say that this little guy has ICE COLD “Vintage” AIR CONDITIONING!?!?
The truck is running a small block Chevy 350 4bbl engine which is one of the most reliable engines you can find and very common to see in a truck of this vintage. Behind it is a BRAND NEW (not rebuilt) Turbo350 three speed automatic transmission, spinning a driveshaft that’s hooked to a late model 10-bolt Chevy rear. A nice sounding dual exhaust runs out the back with custom tips and if you really want to wake up the neighbors flick that little switch on the dash and the electric “cut outs” bypass the exhaust and dump right out behind the front wheels – vroom! Great for entering your local cruise night!
The front suspension is tight and tracks well down the road, a modern rack and pinion setup points the wheels in the intended direction very nicely – no need for power steering here, it’s that easy to maneuver. Front disc brakes handle the stopping chores up front along with the typical drum brakes out back.
The paint and body on the truck presents very well – the paint is roughly 15 yrs old and still shines well. Some cracking from the engine bay’s heat cycles can be seen on the firewall, but it no way detracts from the overall appearance of the truck. This truck was bought to be a driving billboard for the family’s business. This truck can usually be found out front on nice days in the Spring and summer. The decals on the doors can be removed easily enough with a heat gun.
The floor of the bed is wooden and can be removed as one piece very quickly should you need to service anything under the back of the truck – this is huge!
The interior is all new since this owner has had the truck, the black and white theme is very well thought out and is easy to keep clean. A modern sound system has also been added in case you get sick of listening to that great exhaust!
Overall this is a very well built and fully sorted truck that has been well maintained and upgraded by its current owner. It really can be driven anywhere reliably.
