Here we have a collector owned piece of "Road Art", a 1931 Ford Model A Roadster that had been professionally built to a very high standard and is made to be driven - you don't hear that much anymore! The owner of this car is a bare-bones car guy and has two other very nice Fords in his collection besides this beautiful roadster, if you saw his garage you'd understand how particular he is and how this car's build quality is just as particular and unique. Let's get into some of the highlights:

The car is painted beautifully in  Corvette Cyber Gray Metallic laid over a gorgeous 1931 Brookville STEEL body - the car's panels are laser straight and you couldn't ask for better gap consistency. The doors open and close perfectly and the paint's shine and reflective properties are truly that of show quality levels. The car rides on a 1932 Brookville rolling chassis which provides the rigidity and the stance desired in high-end rods of this caliber. A 1932 radiator and grille shell sit between the front of the frame rails along with a very cool touch; an authentic Cadillac camshaft which came out of the engine which is used as the front spreader bar! The front windshield is a chopped '32 vintage style piece. The top is custom made by Rod Tops and looks AWESOME on this car - it's perfect. The interior of this car is truly a work of art - the builder refers to it as "bare-bones" and we think he nailed it. From the firewall, to the door panels, to the fully custom aluminum bomber seats (shown with the optional custom padded HEATED seat covers), which also carries over into the rumble seat (gas tank) area; he captured the true feel of this big block Caddy powered beast - it's one of one, you won't find these design features at any show, it's very unique - be prepared for some attention! The vintage looking Stewart Warner Gauges show the "up to the second" stats from all of the car's sensors. The steering wheel has a quick release hub for easy entrance/exit.

So what's driving this great little roadster? Wait for it... 472 cubic inches of BIG BLOCK CADILLAC, 1970 vintage block with 10:1 compression, Comp Cams "Thumper" cam (the engine's original cam is used as the frame's spreader bar!). The heads have been re-worked with LS valve springs and runs great on today's 93 octane gas. The carb is a tried and true Holley 750. The trans is a GM Turbo 400 three speed which is turning the 9" Currie Posi rear's 3:50 gearset. The entire drive train was new or rebuilt for this car's build. The rear suspension is a very reliable and comfortable 4-link setup with coil-over shocks. The front suspension is a traverse spring with dropped axle. It has Wilwood disc brakes up front and the rears use stout 11" drums - complete with stainless steel brake lines. Rolling stock is Mickey Thompson Sportsman Radials wrapped around vintage looking ET-Slotted mags (how cool are those!), tire sizes are 26X6X15's up front and giant 30X12X15's out back.

This is again, a car that can and has been driven - a lot, the way the owner and his builder intended it to be. You can get in this car and drive it anywhere, it's fully sorted and is extremely reliable. If you are looking for a very unique Ford roadster, I urge you to consider this wonderfully built 31 Ford to add to your garage.
